and off we go!

Come away with me far away with me!

doesn't that look like a lot of fun, travelling around with only a backpack on your shoulders leaving everything behind...Hah! Don't let me fool you! Of course I got another huge bag to carry around, and a handbag, and a laptopbag &&&
I know I probably took way too much stuff but how hard is it to leave stuff, you might need, behind? And now listen to this I haven't even brought my winter clothes like a coat, a hat or just really warm jumpers. I guess I'll just have to buy new stuff once I'm in Michigan in about 3 months when it's freezing over there and then send other stuff back home or be so cruel and throw away my clothes instead of dragging 'em all over to the US. No worries for now though! Haven't even bought that much over here...;)

Anyways travelling with lots of luggage is one thing I can not recomand! The first two weeks I had my parents and my sister with me to help me carry some stuff or even just watch it at the airport so it wasn't even that bad. However, once they continued their trip and I was in Surfer's Paradise for two nights until moving into a house closer to University it came to my mind that this will be a hell of a trip moving from there to Robina.
I will tell you about it in another post which will come soon once I take pictures of my new accomodation and campus!

Back to the beginning of the trip to Australia!
From Luxembourg city we took the bus to Germany where we took another train to the airport to finally get to HongKong and from there to Sydney.
It was quite exhausting sitting down for such a long time moreover if you're not a big fan of planes, however, all of our flights went smoothly and we got food like every two hours so I can't really complain about that, well I was asleep most of the time anyways so no bigger problems there. Nevertheless we were relieved when finally arriving in Sydney and having no problems with the visa or luggage at all.

My parents and my sister came along to visit Australia as it has always been one of my mum's wishes to see this big and beautiful country. So this was her opportunity and frankly I'm glad they accompanied me for the first two weeks, as I got to see quite a lot of Australian culture before beginning my studies here and because it meant spending some time together before saying goodbye for a whole year. It was great to have them experience the land I'll be living on as it feels that now they can imagine what I will be telling them about and because it made leaving Luxembourg behind easier with them next to me. Once we had to part ways in Australia however it was just as hard as it would have been back home and none of us could hold back the tears. I know that a year goes by so fast, probably faster than I want it to, but after all they are my family, the ones who truly know  and accept me for who I am, so letting them go wasn't easy at all. I'm so glad that my family is always encouraging us kids to go our own ways though and I think that they did a great job educating us. Here's something I learned: Distance doesn't matter to the heart so no matter how many miles there are between us, those people are the ones I will always be the closest to!

More about our trip and pictures of sydney, brisbane, uluru...will follow soon
